While there are several ways to do the electronic UK leak detection test, one way, it is done is by laying wire around a certain portion of the roof, which is covered by water, since water is conductive, and the membrane is an electrical insulator, if there are any fissure, water will go underneath the membrane creating a path for electricity to flow. A meter that is sensitive and can capture electric field used to identify the leak; this is done by knocking the surface probes in that area. Thus water leakages if any can be easily identified.
